For a few years now, the *-*-*-...-* style fonts are not used by
Pango anymore.  Nowadays, it uses the so-called client-side
fonts.  You need to make sure that you have suitable Chinese
fonts installed, like putting them in your ~/.fonts/ directory.
fc-list shows the list of fonts accessible by Pango.
