You can use pango_font_describe() and then look up the face for
the family in the descrition.

But I think it is easier to use PangoFcFont.font_pattern and
FcPatternGetInteger (fontset->fonts[i], FC_SPACING, 0, &spacing)
(See pango_fc_font_map_list_families for an example of the latter.)
