The crash is probably due to a driver bug. Have you tried with the HINT?

I didn't receive any bugzilla report for such a crash, and no backtrace.
I don't think it is a bug in GnomeMeeting or in pwlib, I think it is a
bug in the driver that doesn't support an ioctl sequence. The proof is
that you have to reboot, it means that the module has crashed in the
kernel, and thus, gnomemeeting crashed, of course.

You should try with the HINT specified by Dennis, with a recent version
of your driver.

Notice that following :
http://spca50x.sourceforge.net/devices.html

None of the AIPTEK webcams are officially supported by the spca50x
driver for which you have problems, so I guess that crashes are
"normal".
