[GnomeMeeting-list] GnomeMeeting <-> Firewall <-> PSTN <-> Telephone. HELP

Hi guys,

I hope someone can help me here.

We have a PSTN gateway setup back home, which allows me to call normal
telephone handsets, using an internet connection through this gateway.

As you know, negotiotation first starts on port 1720, and then audio is
transfered on a randomly assigned port from 5000 upwards !!

Now the problem is that i'm located behind college's firewall, so don't have
any of those ports open, however, I do have user access to proxy machines
which obviously have full open port access. And it seems I should setup a
gateway or H323 proxy on those machines.

As a side note: I tried using SOCKS v.5 proxy as a H323 proxy, and it's half
successful (ie I can hear them, but they can't hear me !!)

Now, I'm trying to use phonepatch as a H323 gateway on proxy machines, but
so far have had no luck. Can anyone suggest a solution ?? does anyone know
of a good H323 proxy software ?? (remember, I only have user access on those
machines, and they are FreeBSD x86 and Solaris Sparc machines)

I'd greatly appreciate if someone can give me a hand on this, so that I can
talk to home over internet rather than paying 5 euro a minute telephone
charges ;-)

Thanks,

Shane Helms
