Problems with MAL conduit

Two things about the MAL conduit that are becoming annoying:
1)  Every other time I sync my palm, I lose my Yahoo uid and password for synchronizing with myYahoo thru AvantGo.  This wan't happening with the Palm HotSync manager on Windoze so I'm assuming it's a MAL conduit issue.
2) It takes FOREVER to complete.  I'm talking 3+ minutes for the MAL Conduit to finish synching.  The status shows multiple MAL conduit messages for connecting.  Is this normal?  I only have about 4 AvantGo channels configured and I'm using an M505 with USB for a connection.  Here's my gnome-pilot sync log:
