another xscreensaver question

I can't change the screensaver.  It used to work fine but one
day I selected the random screensaver.  Now if I select
anything else, it still picks one at random.

The 'mode' and 'command' are being set in my ~/.gnome/Screensaver
file but they're not being used.  I'm running xscreensaver 3.16,
Redhat 6, and the 1.0.7 gnome packages.  Does anyone have any
idea on how to fix this?
