A tiny documentation nit probably, that has been sitting there for a 
while already:

The INSTALL file states:

Requirements:

this library requires libxml2 >= 2.2.12...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However, ./configure probes for 2.5.6 or higher...  in my situation, 
it found 2.5.8, so I'm not sure whether it would probe for earler 
versions if 2.5.6 or higher would not have been found.

So I'm not 100% sure whether this is a documentation "bug" or not...
