  Don't use unstable versions of the auto* tools.

  Send a patch, I can't reproduce the problem, and I run compile and
build on RedHat-7.2, heck I just rebuilt the RPMs for Rawhide without 
any trouble. 
  If you can't debug the problem, use the existing RPMs,
     ftp://xmlsoft.org/
I build them they are signed with my PGP key !
