Remove unnecessary markup from messages marked for translation

I've added a request for removing markup from translatable glade
messages in http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73339.
What I'm talking about is removing markup from messages like this:

 #: capplets/mouse/gnome-mouse-properties.glade.h:3
  msgid "<i>Fast</i>"
  msgstr ""

For more details, please see the bug report.
I'm unsure if this should be done in glade or intltool, though. What do
you think? Could this be added to intltool?
