but it's the only viable way of making this work universally until
every toolkit and application catches up AND everyone installs all
theupdated toolkits, apps etc. (which will be a long time) - iknow i
can easily get the hacks directly into xlib for our load here at VA
without a problem - and thats a secondary solution - it then fixes all
toolkits and all legacy apps in one hit :)
