[Utopia] gnome-mount works only as root

when I execute it as normal user I get:

$ gnome-mount -t --hal-udi /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/volume_label_CDROM
gnome-mount 0.4

** (gnome-mount:5673): WARNING **: Mount failed for /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/volume_label_CDROM

any idea what is wrong in my configuration?

           dbus-0.61
           gnome-mount-0.4
           udev-088
