Bug 301690 requests a line of description text in
Nautilus's Select pattern dialog.
I'd appreciate suggestions from the usability list, as
I am having trouble thinking of something suitable.
"Enter a pattern to select files with."
With? or 'by'? Seems all backwards.
"Enter a pattern and Nautilus will select files that
match it"
I hate using the app name and personifying the system.
It reminds me of the awful "Enter a filename and
Windows will open it for you". (How gracious of it!)
Thinking a little more widely, instead of adding a
description line, how about changing the text entry
box caption, like this:
"Select files whose names match this pattern:"
... and also changing the OK button to read "Select"?
