We had a discussion in July of last year on how to improve the dialog

I think Christian Neumair came up with a patch, but AFAIK it hasn't been
used.
I like the idea of having a preview of the files, but there are a few
issues. Previews for some file-types aren't very useful for
distinguishing between files (PDFs especially). Rather than (or in
addition to?) a preview, maybe we could have a link/button which opens
the conflicting files in their existing locations so that they can be
compared properly?
And if it's technically feasible (which I don't think it is ATM), they
could even be automagically arranged side-by-side by the window manager?
Just a few thoughts.
