I agree with dobey that handling the Windows and Mac behavior is a good
thing IMO because we are doing what the user expects. I am not saying
there is not a better way, but this being an easy way to handle user
expectations, it is silly not to implement it. I haven't been following
this thread too closely but I think the general tactic of handling
actions that are normal on other platforms is an effective means of
making GNOME more usable. I say this as a "rule of thumb" more than a
unbreakable law of course.
