[Usability] presence of copy/paste option

I noticed today, while writing a letter in evolution, that if I
highlight text from a message and right click, there are absolutely no
'edit' functions (copy/cut/paste), despite the rather expansive menu. Is
there any standard for the presence of text edit functions in right
click menus?
