It's been suggested for years that it would be easy just to add an
Edit->Find Files menu item to nautilus that ran "gnome-search-tool
--path=<currentdir>", and swap it for the real medusa functionality when
it was ready.  Nobody seems very interested in doing that, though :/

Hmm... I never did get around to running my little experiment where the
default behaviour is reversed (shift/middle click if you want to leave
the parent folder open), to see if people found that any easier.  It
does seem to be one of the main stumbling blocks for new users.
