No it probably wouldn't.
Not everyone is willing to give over the screen space, a modal dialog is
preferable. (There was a bug against abiword stating exactly that).
HOWEVER, being able to dock the Find Dialog and have it become a toolbar
would be pretty nice, it might even be the best of both worlds. (hmm,
where did i leave that mockup for mozilla ...?)
I really dont see the point of trying to develop a standard Find and
Replace dialog now when only in the past few weeks there were messages
from the Gedit developers who wanted to do a nice dialog but got little or
no response. Who are the target users of this standard dialog anyway?
