Interface stability is certainly important and something we should be
going for.

A nice comment from the article:

> I learned from this that you can't take features out. That's why you
> have to be so careful about putting them in.

This was a mistake of early GNOME - wasn't careful enough about
putting them in. If we are careful about adding things in the future,
we should not have to remove much.
