Some comments on the design:

The playlist dropdown should probably be a combo instead, so the user
can type the name directly in to it. 

It might be useful to have a toolbar button that adds the current song
to the playlist.

Add a button next to the search field allowing the user to reset the
search.

I think Eugenia Loli-Queru of osnews.com suggested that the font in
list/tree-widgets should be a little smaler than the base font. That
would allow users to se more songs without scrolling.
