[Usability]Notbook tabs look & feel

Hello,

Let me first start off by saying that I am but a humble user and
greatly appreciate the hard work put in by gnome developers to make
gnome a great desktop.

I wanted to express a coment or concern about the notbook tabs. In
just about every theme I have seen for gtk+ 1 and 2 I always seem to
spend too much time determining which notebook tab is active ( poor
memory? ). In any case... How hard would it be to redesign the Notbook
tabs to include a small stripe of color (the color of the highlighted
tab) to seperate the tabs from the data area of that window? i.e. the
way tabs look in Mozilla (modern theme) and Aqua
(http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Essentials/
         AquaHIGuidelines/AHIGControls/Tab_Controls.html)

That small stripe of color greatly improves clarity in which tab is
active. Is this easy to accomplish in gnome2? If so I would
definately be willing to perform some of the work.

Thanks
Parrish Myers
