Ouch... I tried to do the 'essential components' install using the
Ximian Desktop installer so that I could add things at my convenience
later. But now I can't even run red-carpet (is there a command-line
way to run it?) nor the installer. I get the following error in the
installer log file (after it dies)
installer-rpm-glibc2.1-i386: header.c:241: regionSwab: Assertion
`ie.info.type >=0 && ie.info.type <=9' failed.
I also get the same message when trying to run red-carpet:
real-carpet: header.c:241: regionSwab: Assertion `ie.info.type >=0 &&
ie.info.type <=9' failed.
Another thing that's isscrewed up... the window manager doesn't want to
draw the window decorations. So the desktop is pretty useless right now.
Any ideas? Thoughts on how I can get things working again? What does
that assertion mean?
~Tom
