[Shotwell] db design question

First, we don't recommend building apps that read directly from Shotwell's
database. We may alter the schema at any time in order to support new
features and such.
Also, Shotwell already has this feature. The ability to display a single
photo as the background was added in 0.5, and a newer feature to rotate
through a number of photos at regular intervals was added in 0.8:
