Yes that does help, but it's a great shame to have to do that, for one
thing it prevents full interoperability with muine which looks for
cover.jpg in each directory. 

Could rhythmbox not just restrict itself to looking at files with a
.ogg, .mp3 etc. ending? Or, better still, provide the same functionality
as muine re: checking for a cover.jpg and similar?
