Check out gtkpod for a really good way to do this
My Weird Al collection has never been so neat.  gtkpod
is specifically for iPod use, but it can edit tags on
your system as well.  It is a really slick app and
could probably provide a lot of good ideas for both
tag editing and iPod integration.
