[Rhythmbox-devel] unable to play in 0.6.1

Sorry to send this to the list, but I don't really know where else to turn....

I load a mp3 and double click on it to play. The program then immediate quites, with the following dumped to the terminal:

GStreamer-ERROR **: No default scheduler name - do you have a registry ?
aborting...
Aborted

This is odd, since I believe I have gstreamer installed correctly. This is the message I get in the terminal on loading rhythmbox:
