I'm all for this change: make it use GTK_STOCK_CLOSE. We can later add
stock items to GTK+ for minimize/maximize (which will be useful for apps
with multiple panes in their windows, like Eclipse).
Or better yet: can we make the menu use the same X image that appears in
the window's frame buttons?

Reading my first post shows me it is not clear what I want to do. :)
For the 2.16 schedule, I will just proposed to update the pixmap file
of close entry by a new one [1] which match more the shape of actual
"minimize" and "maximize" pixmaps. Just having the close pixmap file
themed is not so great (explained in
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345498#c4).
After 2.16, I plan (I mean I will find someone who have the knowldege
:) ) to do something better, like having themed pixmaps in the
metacity/libwnck (provided by GTK icon theme for instance, or metacity
theme).
So the question is : "Are you okay to change the pixmap ?"
thanks for your attention
