Request for breakage - gnome-panel

Hi,

It seems gnome-panel doesn't compile on solaris [1]. This is caused by a
change that optimizes the "run dialog". On Solaris, there is no d_type
field in a dirent structure.

I made a patch [2]. It compiles fine on Linux but I can't test Solaris
and the reporter did not answer my question. I really think the patch is
correct. And if it is not, it will not be worse than now...

Note that I'm reluctant to remove the tests that use d_type since it
will have an impact on the performance of the run dialog. But if you
really prefer this way, I can do this.

Would it be possible to get this in before 2.10?
