This is a follow-up to the mail from Andrew De Ponte (Mon, 29 May
2006) that I found in the archives.
Problem summary: two task are assigned to a single developer
("resource") and he is working 100% on each of them. Why aren't
those tasks scheduled sequentially? (this assumes that 100%
really means "full time" and hence implies that he can't work
on two "100% tasks" concurrently).
The suggested solution was to "link" those tasks. However, that's
a hack (IMHO): the dependency of the tasks is entirely based on the
fact that a single developer works on them, there is nothing that
prevents the tasks to be scheduled concurrently if each task would
be assigned to a different developer. Hence "linking" the tasks
creates an artificial dependency that would have to be removed "by
hand" if one task is assigned (later on) to another developer.
Is there a way that planner handles this dependency itself?
