Helping on reducing evolution memory usage

Hi all,

just saw Federico's post [1] on p.g.o and, long story short, I and a
friend (who also subscribes to this list, perhaps you, Pedro, can say
hi ;) are willing to tackle the suggested task.

As of yet, one thing (though obvious may be) wasn't fully clear: the
analisys is supposed to be made on evolution HEAD, right?
