- Subject: [PATCH] Make wstring at least somewhat working
- Date: Sun, 23 May 2004 00:05:19 +0200
Hi,
The wstring support was totally broken, it truncated the string in the
middle when marshalling wstrings and cut it off after the first character
when demarshalling.
Well... I'd like to use wstrings because there are some ORBs that assume
that simple strings are always one-byte encodings and don't read UTF-8.
The small patch makes it work with JacORB. ORBit2 negiotiates UTF-16 and
adds an endianess marker and can swap the order if necessary. I did it like
JacORB does this (for GIOP 1.2).
Now I can correctly communicate with JacORB in both directions. :)
Since I can't break it more than it already is, please consider applying
this patch.
