Interoperability of ORBs

I already know the "theoretical" answer to this, but I would like to get
some "practical" answers.

How well do the different ORBs, such as "orbit", "mico", and "tao"
operate with each other?

That is, if I write a server in machine A using orbit, can I access it
from machines B or C using either mico or tao?

Does anyone have any practical experience in this? Any help will be much
appreciated.
