Yes. A VPN connection can't be kept across network switches, because
your IP address is going to change, and therefore the endpoint of your
tunnel.
We had talked early in the development process about keeping an active
VPN connection up, ie if you switch from wired to wireless, the VPN
connection would automatically re-activate on the wireless until you
explicitly turned it off. I think that's still a neat idea, but it
still breaks apps that don't expect the network to go away.
