kernel-2.6.13-1.1532_FC4, wireless-tools-28-0.pre10.5, on an IBM T42
with a pcmcia card. The debug log shows

Bill,
Can you try CVS? I just committed code to ignore ENODATA (61) and treat
it as an empty scan list. That should fix the error here, let me know
if it seems to work OK.
Dan
I tried the latest CVS but there was no change. Perhaps the airo driver
is not playing nice with the latest wireless-tools. If I restart NM
using airo, it takes about 20 seconds for the NM to get a usable scan.
For ipw2200 it takes about 2 seconds. I don't think we were seeing this
before the latest wireless-tools and kernel upgrade. I'll ask Matt
Saltzman to verify. Comments.
1. I tried various airo.c patches and NetworkManagerDevice.c patches
including the one Dan submitted today, but got no change.
2. When I have Cisco and Intel wireless cards in my T42, NM is now only
showing scans from the Cisco. Prior to today's CVS, I was always seeing
scans in the NM menu from both cards. My preference would be to see only
one scan. The only reason I used the Cisco 350 card is to hack airo.c.
3. On a side note, I ripped off minimal ethtool support from ipw2200 and
put it in airo.c. I also patched NetworkManagerDevice.c to use ethtool
support to detect association. These patches seem to work well with
these two drivers.
