Re: No network devices have been found

I'm running gentoo.
I updated the nm-applet.conf like this for my user:
<policy user="jvu">
   <allow own="org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo"/>

   <allow send_destination="org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo"/>
   <allow send_interface="org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo"/>
</policy>

I do not get the pop-up telling me to enter the essid etc... for my
wireless adapter
When I plug a network cable in my laptop, I get an IP but the applet
still tells "No network devices have been found"

Which distribution are you using? The applet needs certain DBUS
permissions that are distribution-specific, it may be that the applet's
dbus config file in /etc/dbus-1/system.d/nm-applet.conf doesn't have the
right options for your distro, and is getting kicked off the bus. That
would make it unable to talk to NetworkManager.

If that's not the case, then there are a few more things we can try.

Dan
