Paul,
Yes, we're planning on doing that. John Palmieri is looking into
wpa_supplicant support. I've had a conversation with the author of that
package and we'll be submitting patches so that wpa_supplicant can do
what NetworkManager needs (which frankly is that wpa_supplicant does
_way_ too much stuff on its own that we need to add switches for so we
can turn that stuff off and use it in "dumb" mode).
