Personally, I am just a user, and not a Gentoo dev (though I am
considering applying), and I am not a fan of resolv.conf being a symlink
to somewhere else. But that is just me - the problem is mainly, that it
doesn't have to be, but it can be - and I believe with the new version
of baselayout in the works, that it WILL be a symlink by default.
