Hello. I was going through the list of bugs marked as GNOME 2.14 blockers the other day and this bug was on it. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324406 It doesn't really belong on that list but instead of taking it off I wrote a patch to fix it. The patch is pretty simple. The patch just uses strlen() instead of g_utf8_strlen() when calculating the length of the string in bytes (gtk_editable_insert_text is documented as wanting length in bytes - not characters). The patch is attached to the bug. Shouldn't take more than a couple of minute to review + approve. Thanks :)
