hello
try and report any problem:
http://gentoo.ovibes.net/nautilus-share/debian/

you must absolutely follow the instructions in the README:
1) download and install nautilus-share and gnome-icon-themes as root:
1.1) dpkg -i gnome-icon-theme_2.9.2-0ubuntu1_all.deb
1.2) dpkg -i nautilus-share_0.3-0ethium1_i386.deb
2) edit your /etc/smb.conf as root:
2.1) add this line : "include=/etc/samba/smbshared.conf" at the very
end of the [global] section
2.2) set "security=share"
2.3) you can restart samba, but it's not necessary because samba
reread its config file when modified
3) create a link as root: ln -s /etc/init.d/smbshared /etc/dbus-1/event.d/
3.1) restart dbus as root: /etc/init.d/dbus-1 restart (check that it
also starts smbshared deamon)
4) restart nautilus as user: nautilus -q

to debug:
- check that the file "/etc/samba/smbshared.conf" is modified when you
define new share in nautilus
- use "testparm" to see if samba is taking your share in account

happy sharing
