Debug help please

Hi,
So I was just copying a folder containing 2340 items (jpg images mostly)
to another partition. Imagine my surprise when Nautilus quit copying at
the 1807th file, and acted as if the copy operation had completed
successfully.
Any hints on how to debug this? (Nautilus 2.9.91 on mandrake cooker)
