The widget switching didn't work for me. (Easy way to test: show
properties for file, then show properties for the folder its in and
toggle user writability (no fam should be required for this, nautilus
detects changes it makes itself)).
Maybe you need to monitor NAUTILUS_FILE_ATTRIBUTE_CAPABILITIES or
something like that.
Also, i get warnings like:
