Do any two downloader/rippers agree on how to represent music metadata, aside
from ID3 tags?

This is a really neat idea, except then your file-manager is dragging along
all kinds of dependencies to various libraries, OR you're forcing everyone in
the world to conform to the same standard ("store your audio metadata HERE,
like THIS, or else. Love, the Nautilus team").
Sure, you can do it for limited cases (like "View As Music Collection" for mp3
files. And ogg files. And.... hey, what all formats does xmms support?
Oops).
