url input

hi there,
i was wandering if the following improvements could be easilly added to
the url input:
- history (while i think the history on the panel is nice i think it
could be dane similarly as in web browsers)
- regex so i could enter for example ~/.*\.xml
it would be great if it could work recursively
- autocompletition
