I'd be happy enough to see it. But any time I've suggested it before
(in Nautilus or anywhere else), somebody argues that it's just as easy
to Select All then deselect the items you don't want, as it is to select
the items you don't want, then Invert :) So it never gets in...
There is at least one specific case in which "Invert selection" would be
very convenient: when you have to copy half of file in dirA to dirB and
the other half to dirC. Don't know if this is enough to justify it.
