Sure. In effect it would look like this:

1. User right-clicks on `File.txt' and selects `Properties'.
2. User selects the appropriate tab.
3. User checks `Hide file'.
-> `File.txt' is now hidden.

4. User right-clicks on `.file.conf' and selects `Properties'.
5. User selects the appropriate tab.
6. User unchecks `Hide file' (which is _checked by default for dot-files_).
-> `.file.conf' is now visible.

7. User selects `Show hidden files' from the view menu.
-> Both `File.txt' and all dot-files are now visible.

8. User selects `Show hidden files' from the view menu again (unchecking
   it).
-> `File.txt' and all dot-files except `.file.conf' are hidden again.

This actually seems like the only sensible approach to me... but maybe
nobody except for myself expected it to get done otherwise, either.

Lars
