Arranging desktop icons

Is there any waty to arrange icons on the desktop the same way you would 
in the nautilus file manager?  the "clean up by name" doesn't give me 
much freedom in how I would like to arrange icons.  I would at least 
like to be able to arrange by type and put folders first, all of which 
can be done in the file manager.
