Hi there,
i've been playing around with my lovely new XD2 toys, and have got a
couple of ideas i'd like to throw in here.
the first is something similar to the apple spring loaded folders, which
(as i understand it) can't be legally implemented at this time. well,
lets say you have '/home/paul/Music/Albums/Radiohead/The Bends' open.
In that dir, is a file which belongs in '/home..../Radiohead/Kid A',
instead of copying, navigating, pasting the file, you could pick it up,
hover over the "Up" button till you're in //Radiohead/ and then hover
over "Kid A", and finally let go when you want to drop the file.
Would be a faster way of moving the file, when compared to manually
opening 2 windows and/or when copying/pasting.
The "back" and "forward" buttons could also be used for "hover
navigation"(?)
the other idea is one that i posted on this list a long time ago (pre
nautilus 1.0). it was talked about for a bit, and then someone posted
the spring-loaded folders concept, and this idea was forgotten pretty
quickly...but i think nautilus would benefit from something similar to
this:
