	It's possible you just need to hack gnome-mime-data to ensure it
detects bmp images as a type 'image/bmp' or somesuch; alternatively -
you need to attack the thumbnailing schema (?) to tell it that the image
thumbnailer can handle that type - I believe that's a matter of poking
inside gconf-editor in some horrible way to make that happen.
