Add a removable device?

Hi

I have been working on the synce-gnome-vfs module to improve the
filemanagement for the pocketpc. What I now would like to do is to
communicate to nautilus when a pocketpc is connected (it is never
mounted) so that it might be shown as a removable device. Is this
possible and if so where do I look to see how it is done?
