You may want to check out
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73937
containing some initial discussion about whether it's better to "follow"
a symlink (windows behavior) or directly displaying its contents (UNIX
behavior).
It's a severe issue that needs to be resolved in a decent way.
In my opinion, we should simply stick to UNIX conventions. It would be a
good idea to have different folder object properties for different
symlinks pointing to the same location, since it would be unexpected to
change "~/media/audio/Black Sabbath"'s dimensions and have the "/usr/
share/media/audio/Black Sabbath" object changed as well.
Any comments on that?
regs,
Chris
