hello all,
When i double click on a file in the nautilus and it is a file
that can be opened by a gnome application (i.e. a ps file or a gnumeric file)
it opens it up with, for example, gnumeric IN THE NAUTILUS WINDOW. is
there a way to tell nautilus to use a new window?

Open a nautilus window. Click on 'Edit', then 'Preference's. Click on the 'Behavior' tab. Check 'Open activated item in a new window'. Note, however, that this will open a new window every time you open a folder. Hope this helps.
